We did it! Congratulations to Paul Crank and Krystyna Wojcik, CAA Approved UAV pilot and observer.
Catalyst Video Services has just completed, and passed with flying colours so to speak, the theory and practical exams to gain ‘Permission for Aerial Work’ certification from the CAA to enable fully licensed and insured commercial aerial work to be undertaken.
Catalyst Video Services (CVS) has been filming, editing and producing video for websites since 2010 and the addition of aerial photography and video will further enhance this service. The ability to rise up to 400 ft above the subject opens up many opportunities for viewing which is just not possible from ground level.
Speed and efficiency means lower costs
The advantages of using a full HD camera drone, as opposed to a fixed wing plane, include versatility – as drones can fly close to the subject from a few centimetres above ground up to 400 ft; time – as drones can be up and flying quickly once the site assessments have taken place, and cost – compared with commissioning a small plane or helicopter or erecting scaffolding.
The applications are numerous and in addition to supplying an interesting aspect to a ground filmed video, are a very valuable source of information for construction and engineering projects, agricultural applications, tourism, event and sports coverage, sales of estate and residential property, housing developments, business parks, inspections of various types…the list goes on and will enable Catalyst’s customers to demonstrate to their customers the extent and scope of any particular project.
Fully qualified and insured
Catalyst Video Services is fully insured with £2m public liability to fly at altitudes of up to 400ft (120m) with permissions for aerial work granted by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Catalyst’s UAV pilot is BNUC-S qualified, attained from The European Unmanned Systems Centre (EuroUSC™)- Europe’s leading independent Light UAS Accreditation Specialist for assessing ‘Airworthiness & Pilot Qualifications’.
Adhering to strict safety and operational rules and safety procedures necessary to ensure the safety of crew, public and buildings, CVS can edit and produce finished films with music, company logos, titling etc. We also offer ground filming and editing services and will be happy to hear from you to help you plan your next aerial project and give you a quotation.
